The Formula for Happiness

"What we think it is about is an attachment to another person. And a sense that another person is there for you, particularly when you need them. Mindfulness vs. Anti-Anxiety Medications

A recent paper compared Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to the medication escitalopram's (Lexipro's) ability to reduce stress. Mindfulness meditation may be just as effective as anxiety medication reports the study, published in JAMA Psychiatry. Although 45 minutes of daily mindfulness practice may not be practical for everyone (I usually only do 15-20 minutes), the paper indicates that cultivating mindfulness should be more widely taught (and prescribed).
