Sleep Apps for iOS

Sleep is one of the pillars of health. There are many sleep tracking apps out there. The app I’ve used for years is called Sleep Cycle. Sleep Cycle bills itself as an alarm clock, but I am more interested in the sleep data it generates. Sleep cycle can use either your breathing pattern or the phone’s accelerometer to measure sleep. I’ve used the breathing pattern sensing for several years. It is quite accurate.

In writing this post, I came across another app that looks worthy of a try: SleepScore. SleepScore differentiates itself by offering more information about the different stages of sleep and offering advice to improve sleep hygiene.

Wirecutter recently reviewed both apps—check it out. I’ll report back on my experience with SleepScore soon.
